Where did our story begin:
You may have seen the name Omnissa and wondered, “What is the story?” If you have been in or around the End-User Computing space for any time, you already know us, but you may not know us by the new name yet. Omnissa has a long, rich history of providing industry-leading products and technology. The company’s roots started with AirWatch, which was acquired by VMware and merged into the End-User Computing (EUC) business unit. Over the years, EUC became a stand-out, profitable business unit.
When VMware was acquired by Broadcom in late 2023, it was immediately determined that EUC had enormous potential as an independent business – what we now believe is a $26 billion market opportunity. By the start of 2024, KKR announced that it would acquire EUC. We renamed the business, and on July 1st 2024, we announced the launch of Omnissa as an independent, $4B company with two decades of leadership in the digital workspace.
Today, as we wrap up our first two customer conferences in Tokyo and Dallas, Omnissa is hitting its stride. Customers, partners, and our community of experts came together to explore the Omnissa roadmap, discuss our expanding partner ecosystem, and hear about our latest innovations, appearing for the first time as Omnissa.
Who are we now:
So, who is Omnissa? Omnissa is the same End-User Computing and Device Management company, only better. Potential conflicting corporate priorities or pet projects no longer hinder us. We can make faster decisions that are in the best interest of our customers and business. We get to decide who we partner with.
Simply by the numbers, Omnissa is a $4B standalone business with $1.5 Billion ARR and 4,000 employees globally and trusted by over 26,000 customers.
Our customers were asking for two things: Improved support experience and freedom of choice. Omnissa is answering that call by solely prioritizing a single AI-driven platform supporting four main solution pillars: Unified Endpoint Management (Workspace ONE), Virtual Desktops & Apps (Horizon), Digital Employee Experience, and Security and Compliance in everything.
Our mission statement says it all, “We empower employees to do their best work from anywhere through smart, seamless, and secure experiences”. Omnissa Values
So, where is Omnissa headed?
Because we are now an independent company, we can focus on how we grow. There is always plenty of speculation when a company changes ownership: will they split up? Change their product offerings? At Omnissa, we don’t have to speculate. KKR has shared publicly that they will invest for growth, they believe in our strategy and believe in the market opportunity. KKR Release
Omnissa is investing in 3 key areas:
Investing in product innovation: For example, Omnissa carried out a major overhaul of the Workspace ONE product family to improve operational efficiency through microservices and increase the speed of customer enrollment and management. This led to the acceleration of many innovative features across the platform, including DDM and AMAPI support for mobile, multi-user for Windows, Freestyle Orchestrator for cross-platform automation, and more.
Ease of doing Business: Customers will see a difference in the way we support them by offering different ways to get support. We have also consolidated Support as part of R&D with a focus on problem-solving vs. closing tickets. On top of the support org changes, we have launched a brand new, already active, and vibrant Community. Here, anyone can come and register, ask questions, and interact with other customers, employees, or our revamped and relaunched Omnissa Tech Insiders.
Ecosystem Expansion: Customers will see a lot more information coming out in the future about our expanded APIs and more information to come about our Technology Partnerships.
You can see how we can now invest the right money and resources in what customers need and have relationships and solutions with the partners our customers already use.
We are also keeping an eye toward our North Star: Self-Healing, Self-Configuring, and self-securing autonomous workspaces. This includes innovation across our 4 solution areas driven by AI Tools. This isn’t AI to get funny pictures; this is responsible, purpose-built tools that leverage AI to bring real value and provide real customers with real data and resolutions to issues.
This is only the beginning of the Omnissa story. The chairman of the board of one of my previous companies had a great quote, “What we all want from work is to be a valued member of a winning team on an inspiring mission” – Graham Weston. I feel that way now at Omnissa and I feel we are helping our customers feel that way as well.
